For me, this isn’t just a hobby anymore; it’s a calling. My journey into the world of art and craftsmanship is still unfolding, deeply rooted in my family’s creative legacy. The Timeless Tulip Dimensional Wood Art beautifully represents where I am in that journey.
A Family Legacy of Creativity
I don’t just make these pieces—I feel compelled to make them. Creativity is a part of who I am, a gift I continue to nurture and explore. It runs through my family and continues to shape the artist I’m becoming.
The language of art, design, and color came from my paternal grandmother, father, and uncle. They taught me to see the world in compositions and hues—to find beauty in small details and express it with my hands. I still spend time with my uncle talking design and ideas. His influence continues to guide me, inspiring new ways to bring art to life.
Over time, my love for visual art has evolved into a passion for woodworking. It’s something I’m still learning every day—how each type of wood behaves, how grain and texture influence a design, and how light changes everything. I experiment constantly, learning through the essential process of trial and error. Each project teaches me something new and helps me carry my family’s creative spirit forward in my own way.
Meet the Timeless Tulip
The Timeless Tulip Dimensional Wood Art is one of the pieces that best captures this chapter of my journey.
It’s not just decor—it’s my personal interpretation of a simple, classic form: the tulip. My goal is to create a layered, dimensional design that feels alive, using the warmth and natural color of wood to tell its story, and what makes it unique is that I don’t use paint.
Every shade and hue you see comes directly from the wood itself. Each type—Peruvian Walnut, Purpleheart, and Poplar—has its own natural tone and texture. Together, they form a rich, organic palette that reflects nature’s beauty without alteration.
The Process of Creation
The process begins with sketches and design concepts, exploring how to give depth and movement to a flower’s form. Once the design feels right, I choose woods that complement one another—Peruvian Walnutfor the base, vibrant Purpleheart for the bloom, and light Poplar for the stem.
Each layer is cut using both hand tools and a precision laser, carefully blending traditional craftsmanship with modern technology. The laser allows me to achieve fine, clean details, while hand-cutting gives each curve and edge its own unique character.
After cutting, I sand each piece carefully—sometimes several times—to achieve a smooth, tactile finish. I’m still learning the balance of technique and patience it takes to get that perfect surface. The final touches—those slow, careful moments of buffing and finishing—are where the artwork truly comes alive.
Every time I work on a new piece, I think about my family and how their creativity continues to shape my hands and my heart. I’m still learning, still growing, and still discovering what’s possible when art, patience, and nature come together.
The Timeless Tulip is a testament to my family, my passion, and the endless possibilities found in nature's palette. When you bring this piece into your home, you're not just buying decor—you’re welcoming a piece of that ongoing legacy.
