Heirloom Hardwood Chess Board
Designed to be played, displayed, and enjoyed for years to come, this handcrafted chess board brings together three distinctive hardwoods in one timeless piece.
The approximately 19” board features a rich Black Walnut frame surrounding individually crafted squares of Hard Maple and Peruvian Walnut. Rather than relying on stains or printed patterns for contrast, the character of the board comes naturally from the color, grain, and texture of the woods themselves.
Careful attention was given to the alignment of the playing surface, the joinery of the walnut frame, and the finishing process to create a substantial board that feels equally at home during a game or displayed as part of a well-designed space.
Because natural hardwood is at the heart of the design, every board will have its own variations in grain and tone, making each finished piece unique.
