Going into this pop-up, we were watching the weather closely — honestly preparing ourselves for the possibility that rain might change everything. Instead, the skies cleared, the community showed up, and what unfolded was one of those days you carry with you long after it’s over.

Family at the Table

One of the most rewarding parts of the day was watching Reese and Liam share their own work with confidence. Reese brought her handmade journals, pieces that drew people in with their personal and artistic feel. Liam’s outdoor-themed framed bear design connected with visitors who appreciate nature-inspired décor and custom woodwork. Watching people stop, ask questions, and purchase something our kids put real time and care into — that’s a feeling no sales number can measure. Their excitement through every conversation and sale was one of the highlights of the entire day.

Watching skills turn into confidence is one of the most rewarding parts of creating by hand. For this event, Reese selected the journal graphic, learned how to bring it into the laser process, and finished the piece by adding the spiral binding. Seeing the final result and watching one sell made the experience even more memorable.

The Work We Brought

Alongside their pieces, we displayed several custom layered works that reflect the craftsmanship we love creating. A layered guitar frame combining natural hardwood tones, engraved detail, and dimensional design drew consistent attention throughout the day. Our custom “Dad’s Workshop” sign — built with layered lettering and contrasting wood finishes — quickly became a conversation piece at the table. We also received several inquiries for custom signs and personalized engraved pieces, which is always one of the most exciting parts of these events. Those conversations often turn into future projects with real personal meaning behind them.

Something New: Leather Goods by Platypus

This pop-up also gave us the opportunity to introduce something new to our display — handcrafted leather goods made by Platypus, created by a dear friend from California whose craftsmanship we are proud to now carry alongside our wood and engraving work. His pieces brought a different texture and energy to our table and sparked great conversations with customers looking for functional, meaningful gifts. We’re excited to continue sharing his work through our shop.

A Full-Circle Moment

One moment made the day especially personal. A dear friend stopped by who gifted me my first laser machine, opening the door to an entirely new world. Learning the software, developing my eye for design, building this business — it all started with that one generous gift. Having her there to see what it has grown into meant more than words can say. Some moments in this journey are hard to put into words, and that was one of them.

The Community Around Us

We are grateful to the coffee shop for welcoming us back and for continuing to trust us with their engraving work. Watching how deeply they are connected to their community — and being welcomed into that — never gets old. We were also surrounded by incredibly talented young vendors throughout the day, bringing custom t-shirts, canvas paintings, original sticker designs, baked goods, and of course the coffee that brought everyone together. Seeing young creators confidently share their talents added an energy to the day that was truly special.

More Than Craftsmanship

Events like this remind us that every piece on our table carries more than skill and careful work — it carries family effort, creativity, growth, and stories that continue to build with each event we attend.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, supported handmade work, shared kind words, placed a custom request, or simply made the day feel worthwhile. We’ll see you at the next one.
